    The Government is being called on to take urgent action on regulating salt in our foods


    Research from Otago and Auckland universities reveals about two thirds of packaged foods on supermarket shelves - exceed the World Health Organisation benchmark.

    The Stroke Foundation wants the WHO level mandatory for all New Zealand food manufacturers.

    General Manager Jess Winchester says it's also important labelling becomes more obvious.

    She says it's important people can make an informed choice and 75 percent of strokes are preventable.
