Victoria Park tunnel open after car fire

A car fire that closed the Victoria Park tunnel in Auckland has been dealt with but motorists are being warned to expect long delays.

    9 November 2017

A car fire that forced the closure of Auckland's Victoria Park tunnel has been dealt with but backed up traffic will take some time to clear.

The fire happened on Thursday morning in the tunnel which is a major route for northbound traffic through central Auckland.

It was dealt with and the New Zealand Transport Agency says all lanes are now open but motorists should expect long delays and consider using State Highways 16 and 18 to get to the North Shore.
