The Wellington Chamber of Commerce says parking has been challenging in the CBD since the 2016 Kaikoura Earthquake

The Commerce Commission has filed proceedings against Wilson Parking, after complaints about price increases at one of Wilson's parks.
It's alleged Wilson Parking reduced competition in the Boulcott Street area, by owning two parking lots on the same street.
Chamber of Commerce chief executive John Milford says about two thousand public parks were lost due to the earthquake, which created a gap for private parking companies.
He says there's an opportunity for those companies to charge a premium price.
