A former strip joint on Hamilton's main street has been engulfed in fire

Surrounding buildings including a medical centre have also been involved.

Calendar Girls is on the city's main street and is next to Biddy Mulligan's Irish Pub and the Victoria Accident and Medical Centre.

Both Calendar Girls and Biddy Mulligan's are unoccupied at the moment.

Fire and Emergency northern fire communications shift manager Paul Radden says the fire began shortly after midnight.

Resources were called in from outside Hamilton to help.

The fire's out, but investigators will be on the scene later this today.
