Amy Winehouse Foundation named eBay's charity of the week

The Amy Winehouse Foundation has been chosen as eBay's charity of the week, and fans will be able to make charitable donations on the website in honour of the first anniversary of the musician's death.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation has been chosen as eBay's charity of the week.

To mark the first anniversary of the 'Rehab' singer's tragic death on July 23, the Foundation will be taking open donations from members of the public every time they shop online with eBay from 7pm on July 22 until July 29.

The organisation, set up by the soul singer's family after her untimely passing at the age of 27, will be selling merchandise for the first time, including pin badges and T-shirts.

Signed copies of her father Mitch Winehouse's tell-all book 'Amy, My Daughter' will also be up for auction as well as a special 'Lioness: Hidden Treasures' disc frame commemorating Amy's phenomenal career.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation was set up on September 14, 2011 to support charitable activities that provide help and support for young people who are suffering from addiction, ill health and disability.

Mitch recently admitted he constantly worried about his daughter - who had a disastrous marriage to drug addict Blake Fielder-Civil - and her self-destructive lifestyle when she was alive.

He confessed: "Every night I'd go to bed with the phone next to me. I couldn't sleep with my wife, Jane, and I was thinking to myself, 'Tonight's the night - she's going to die tonight.' "
