Kelly Clarkson: Dating is like American Idol audition

Kelly Clarkson thinks dating is like "an 'American Idol' audition", as the men she meets are always over-confident or "intimidated" by her.

Kelly Clarkson thinks dating is like "an 'American Idol' audition".

The 'Mr. Know It All' hitmaker – who won the first season of the TV talent show in 2002 - finds it "hard" to meet men she gets along with, as they are always over-confident or "intimidated" by her.

She told 'Access Hollywood': "The problem isn't getting offers - the problem is getting offers from someone you like, you know? It's really hard to find."

"I recently said to my manager, 'You know what the problem is? It's like an 'American Idol' audition. The worst ones are the most confident.' And the same thing goes for my dating life. The worst guys are the most confident with me.

"And the ones you want to ask you out are intimidated, so yeah, it's not fun. Dating is hard!"

The 29-year-old singer recently explained she is looking forward to meeting a "hot man" who thinks she's "freakin' awesome".

Telling fans what's on her "can't wait" list, Kelly wrote on her Facebook page: "I also can't wait to find a hot man that thinks I'm freakin' awesome ha! There's a lot of things on my 'can't wait' list people! (sic)"
