The Broncos' surprise inclusion for tonight's match against the Warriors in Brisbane is ready to prove his return to the sport is worthwhile.
Tonie Carroll has been named on the Broncos bench, despite retiring from league at the end of the last season.
Carroll says he has been putting in long hours of training to get himself ready.
"I've been training pretty tiresomely for the last three weeks, so you know, I think I'm ready to go."
Forward Micheal Luck admits the Warriors were surprised when they saw the team list - and had to double check it.
"No-one really saw that coming but you know, he's been a great player for a long time and whatever issues he might have with fitness are overcome by his form and his class."
There is no word whether Manu Vatuvei will be fit for the Warriors due to a hamstring injury.
Kick off is at 9.30pm.
