The Warriors have announced a thorough end-of-season review following their disappointing 2009 NRL campaign.
As part of the process, a group of "independent" observers are spending time at the club this week looking at football operations.
The observers are former Warriors Awen Guttenbeil and Monty Betham, ex-Kiwis captain Hugh McGahan and world champion softballer Dean Rice.
CEO Wayne Scurrah says everyone acknowledges the results this season have been unacceptable and they are committed to bringing about significant improvement next year. He says external views of operations could provide some valuable assistance.
Scurrah says the view of former players will help them improve next season.
"In some ways they're the best people because they are removed from us now, but they were also involved in the club during their career and they would sense some things that perhaps are different to when they played themselves."
Some have questioned the extent of the observers' independence, but Scurrah says the review is not about individuals.
"It's about more the processes and the way we operate, the way we look, the way the club looks, the way the rooms are, the type of equipment that they're using."
