Police relieved with baby killing verdict
Auckland police say they are pleased parents held accountable over baby's death after a "frustrating" investigation

Auckland police are pleased someone has been held accountable for the beating and murder of an 11-week-old baby girl.
Azees Mahomed has been found guilty of murdering his daughter Tahani, as well as two counts of causing her grievous bodily harm.
Both he and his wife Tabbasum Mahomed have also been found guilty of failing to provide the necessaries of life.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Lynch says the verdicts come about after a challenging and frustrating investigation. He has also paid tribute to the police investigation and prosecution teams for their work.
