Boy's death being treated as homicide

Death of Karl Perigo-Check, Wanganui 2-year-old, being treated as homicide as injuries could not have been accidental

    6 November 2009
The death of a two-year-old Wanganui boy is now being treated as a homicide.

Karl Perigo-Check was admitted to hospital over Labour weekend and a post mortem examination revealed he had internal injuries.

Detective Inspector Chris Bensemann says police are satisfied the injuries could not have been caused accidentally. A team of 17 detectives is working on the case.

No one has been arrested in relation to the death yet.
