A 30-year-old Dunedin fisherman has had a lucky escape after being swept off rocks at Cape Saunders.
He spent about 20 minutes in the water before being plucked to safety by the crew of a commercial fishing boat.
He has been winched off the boat by a helicopter and has an ankle injury, which was being checked in Dunedin Hospital.
