    Colin Firth’s Goode gay kiss

Colin Firth has admitted his kiss with Matthew Goode in ‘A Single Man’ was “pretty good”.

    3 February 2010
Colin Firth doesn’t mind kissing men.

The British actor had to lock lips with both Matthew Goode and Julianne Moore on the set of new film ‘A Single Man’, and insists he never felt uncomfortable, though was warned by director Tom Ford not to get too close to the actress.

Speaking at the UK premiere of the movie in London last night (01.02.10), Colin said: “Matthew Goode was a pretty good kisser. Julianne Moore was much better but I wasn’t supposed to be enjoying it.

“That was the only time that Tom Ford had to get on my case saying I was supposed to be playing a gay man and to keep your hands to yourself and get your tongue out of her mouth.”

The 49-year-old star – who has sons Luca, nine, and seven-year-old Matteo with wife Livia Giuggioli, as well as 19-year-old William from his previous marriage – also said he is concerned about hidden homophobia in Hollywood and has called for prejudices to be addressed.

He said: “There might be risks for a gay actor coming out. The politics of that are quite complex it seems to me.

“I think it needs to be addressed and I feel complicit in the problem. I don't mean to be. I think we should all be allowed to play whoever - but I think there are still some invisible boundaries which are still un-crossable."
