Dead man's next of kin sought

James Michael McCarthy's next of kin are being sought; the 53-year-old died in Middlemore Hospital on February 3

Police are wanting the public's help to identify James Michael McCarthy's next of kin.

The 53-year-old was admitted to Auckland's Middlemore Hospital in January and died on February 3, as the result of an illness.

Prior to his death Mr McCarthy, who was born on December 24 1956, was living in a Papatoetoe caravan park.

Counties Manukau police spokeswoman Miranda Kerr says anyone with information regarding Mr McCarthy's next of kin or family members is urged to contact police on 09 295 0200, or the Bereavement Care Service at Middlemore Hospital on (09) 276 0000.
