Samuel L. Jackson doesn't miss his wife when they are apart

The 'Avengers Assemble' star and his spouse LaTanya Richardson - who he has been married to for 42 years - frequently don't see one another for long periods of time because of their acting careers, but he insists he doesn't get upset about being alone.

He said: "One of the things that disturbs people about me is that I don't have separation anxiety. I don't miss my wife.

"LaTanya's in New York, we talk once a day and we're fine.

"At the end of a movie people go, 'I'm so sad.' I say, 'Is this the last movie you're ever going to do?' "

Samuel has previously fought drink and drug addiction, and admits his problems caused difficulties in his relationship with LaTanya - with who he has 30-year-old daughter Zoe - until his sought help in 1991.

The 'Pulp Fiction' actor thinks his work schedule helped him and LaTanya stay together during their difficult times because their separation made them "forget" their problems.

He told Seven magazine: "We're both very tolerant. We've had big fights and those moments when it would have been easy to walk away, but fortunately I went on location or she went on the road doing a play or something and then we forgot about it."
