Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards will make fan's brains "liquefy" according to Chris Jericho

The 10th annual rock event will return next month, hosted by the retired WWE wrestler and frontman of Fozzy, who is excited about fronting the event for the first time.

He said: "Your head is going to explode. Your brain is going to become liquefied. Your bones are going to crumble into dust... Crank it up! It's going to be awesome."

Fozzy will also play a set on the HMS Hammer boat, a pre-show party on the water ahead of the awards.

Awards at the show will be voted for by readers of the heavy metal magazine, and nominees include Iron Maiden, Metallica, Lamb of God and Anthrax.

Alex Milas, Editor of Metal Hammer, said: "Over the course ten years the Metal Hammer Golden Gods have established themselves as the gold standard by which all other such affairs are measured.

"As the world's only genuine metal awards show, we pride ourselves in the quality of acts that come to perform, party, and indeed pick up a gong on the night.

"As we celebrate our mag's 25th year of publication we'll also be hoisting a goblet to over a decade of hosting the first, the best, and the heaviest metal awards show on the planet. Here's to another 10!"
