Elle Macpherson is not returning to host 'Fashion Star'

The 48-year-old supermodel has confirmed she is departing the show as presenter but will remain on the NBC programme as ex ecutive producer, and the blonde beauty is "very proud" to have been part of its inaugural series.

She told the New York Post newspaper: "I have been involved with 'Fashion Star' from the beginning, and am very proud to see it come to life, not only in America but globally.

"The show is in great hands, and although I will not be hosting this season, I will still be very involved [and] will be reviewing the format for the upcoming season."

But Elle is not the only one leaving the programme as co-sponsor H&M have ruled out returning for a second season after insiders revealed the high street store decided the reality show was no longer a good fit.

Judges Jessica Simpson, John Varvatos and Nicole Richie are expected to remain on the programme, despite speculation the format of the series could be set to change and producers are considering going without a dedicated host.

Elle now plans to develop a new show, entitled 'Goddess With Guts', with her 'Fashion Star' producing partner Ben Silverman.
