The 'Veronica Mars' beauty will take on the role of a 30-year-old reporter who quits her job in New York City to move back to her hometown where she gets a job as a lifeguard and starts a relationship with a 16-year-old delinquent.

Meryl Streep's daughter Mamie Gummer, Martin Starr, Alex Shaffer, Joshua Harto and Amy Madigan will also star in the film.

Liz W. Garcia will direct the movie which is set to start shooing in Pittsburgh this month.
