Samuel L. Jackson caused sleepless nights on Django Unchained

Samuel L. Jackson's "kick ass" acting on Django Unchained caused some of his fellow stars to have sleepless nights, according to Jamie Foxx.

Samuel L. Jackson's acting on Django Unchained caused his fellow stars to have sleepless nights.

Jamie Foxx revealed some of the actors appearing alongside the 66-year-old star in the final few scenes of Quentin Tarantino's forthcoming western movie "wouldn't go to sleep at night" because they were apprehensive about acting against him the next day.

He said: "It ends up with myself and Samuel L. Jackson, at the very end of the movie. I even had mentioned to Quentin that Samuel Jackson was housing the part.

"People wouldn’t go to sleep at night because they knew they had to act against Samuel Jackson, the next morning. He was kicking everybody’s ass, in the scene."

Jamie was delighted to get the blessing of Franco Nero, who starred in the original 'Django' movie - which Quentin made the cast watch before they took on their respective roles – and he admits it was a great help to have him on set throughout filming.

He added: "I was just like, 'Wow!' It was amazing! And then, to actually have the original Django in the movie was great. He was the biggest star on the set.

"For him to give his blessing was amazing. I think he really felt it was true to it. I think the pleasant surprise for people is going to be that it’s a western, and it stays along the lines of a western that happens to have the backdrop of slavery."

The movie tells the story of the titular character (Jamie), whose main goal in life is to recover his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) but first needs to get past the villainous club owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio).
