Tom Hardy has agreed to fight David Haye in a charity boxing match

The 'Dark Knight Rises' actor - who played a cage fighter in 2011 movie 'Warrior' - wants to get in the ring with the professional heavyweight boxer, nicknamed the Hayemaker, but only if the money raised goes to good causes such as Help for Heroes, the Prince's Trust, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Bowel Cancer Research and homeless charity FLACK.

The 34-year-old star - who is currently in the Congo filming a TV documentary about survival - told The Sun newspaper: "Hardy v Hayemaker? No problem. Let me take my make-up off first. I'll fight him as soon as I get back from the Congo with my mates if he wants.

"I've never fought a professional heavyweight, it'll be an experience.

"I would obviously prefer my first professional fight to be against someone in my weight category but hey-ho."

But Tom has played down his chances of victory in the fight and admits his situation is similar to Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke, who embarked on a three-year boxing career in the early 1990s before retiring.

He added: "Let's have it. We all know how this is going to end don't we ... not good for Tommy.

"This is sort of like Mickey Rourke. But Mickey's a better actor and boxer than me. How about singing lessons instead?"

While Tom wants to take up boxing, David recently admitted he is keen to kick-start an acting career and play a bad guy similar to Tom's terrifying alter-ego Bane in 'The Dark Knight Rises'.

He told BANG Showbiz: "I think it would be easier to play a hero at the moment, but I would like to play a villain and Bane just looks so vicious. If someone finds a baddie for me to play then I reckon I could pull that part off.

"I really want to learn to act, I've had to train so hard for so many years that it'll be interesting having to learn something all over again."
