David Beckham worries that his soccer skills have cast a shadow over his children's lives

The footballer - who has three sons and a daughter with wife Victoria Beckham - admits that his sons are given high expectations when it comes to them playing the sport.

He said: "There are expectations on the football side for the kids. It's hard for them obviously.

"There's a lot of pressure on them. They go for try-outs and people ¬automatically think David Beckham's son is going to bend the ball in the top corner at the age of six."

But he believes that Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, nine, and Cruz, seven, "don't really notice the pressure".

He told Esquire magazine: "They're very confident kids. They take it in their stride."

The 37-year-old star - who also has a one-year-old daughter named Harper -said that stripping off for advertising campaigns isn't as difficult as it once was.

He admitted: "It's definitely got easier over the years. But when I was in New York, seeing a huge poster on the side of a building was quite daunting.

"I remember driving past there and stopping and running out and taking a picture and this guy walked past me and he was like, 'Oh, my God! Have you seen your d*** up there?'

"Or something disgusting like that. That was funny."
