New Zealand defender Ian Hogg will play in the United States Major League Soccer competition after signing with the Portland Timbers.
Hogg, 22, joins fellow All White Jack Gleeson at the club while former All White Gavin Wilkinson is the general manager and interim head coach.
"Ian is a young, talented left back with good athleticism and a desire to succeed," Wilkinson said.
"We have signed him for the remainder of the season and look forward to closely evaluating him as we move to next season."
The Auckland City player missed out on a contract at Swedish second division club Umea after trialling there and had previously tried his luck in England's lower leagues with Hereford United.
Hogg has just completed his second Olympic campaign. He played for New Zealand as an 18-year-old at the 2008 Beijing Games and was part of the Oly Whites squad who failed to advance through the pool phase in London.
Hogg scored on his full New Zealand debut against El Salvador in May and was part of the disappointing OFC Nations Cup campaign in June.
