    Brown cards best result in OneAsia

    Wellington golfer Mark Brown shot a seven under 65 in the final round of the Thailand Open to reach fifth spot, his best finish in the OneAsia Tour.


    Wellington golf professional Mark Brown has recorded his best finish in the OneAsia Tour and for 2012 with a share of fifth place in the Thailand Open.

    Brown, 37, carded a seven under par 65 in the final round at the Suwan Golf & Country Club on Sunday to finish on an 18 under par total, and a prize purse of $NZ46,550.

    With rounds of 70, 65, 70 and 65 he was five shots behind England's Chris Wood who won by two shots from Korean Dong-kyu Jang.

    Fellow Wellington pro Gareth Paddison carded rounds of 70, 67, 67 and 70 to claim a share of 22nd place and earn $12,000.

    Hastings professional Doug Holloway was tied 61st to bank $2600.
