Priscilla and Lisa Marie attend Elvis' 35 year anniversary

Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley attended a vigil to mark 35 years since Elvis' death last night

The late rock 'n' roll legend's ex-wife and daughter joined mourners who gather annually to pay their respects at Graceland, the home where Elvis lived and his final resting place.

Yesterday evening was the first time the Presley family have attended the event.

Lisa Marie, 44, told the crowd: "I've always avoided this because I felt that it would be too emotional.

"But I really felt it was important to come down here tonight. I love you very, very, very much."

Priscilla also talked of how proud she was to attend the event, speaking as she looked out from the stage over a sea of candles.

She said: "You should see this from our point of view. It's amazing. It's truly a sight to behold."

Meanwhile, Lisa Marie has said how looking after her late father's estate is a full-time job.

Although the 44-year-old singer/songwriter combines a busy career with raising four children, she says protecting the legacy of Elvis - who died 35 years ago - is a "constant" struggle.

She told Australia's 'The Morning Show': "It's a constant quest to make sure everything is quality controlled. The image is protected, Graceland itself is protected, its future, whoever gets involved in it. It's a constant job."

Despite the work she has to put in to maintaining her father's legacy, Lisa Marie insists she wouldn't change her life even if she could.

She explained: "It's a blessing, it has its challenges I will say but it's not something I would regret or take back or want to change anyway."
