Rita Ora says it was love at first sight when she first started dating Bruno Mars

The singer has revealed that she and Bruno used to be an item before either of them became famous.

The London-born star - who has since began a relationship with Robert Kardashian - developed a crush on the pop star when he was recruited by her record label to help her write some songs.

Rita said: "It was love at first sight, such a great experience.

"We met in 2009. I was 18 and starting out at Roc Nation. Bruno was unknown back then too.

"He was a struggling songwriter hired to write songs for me. I thought, 'Wow, that's just the world's greatest guy!'"

A publication had published pictures of the couple at an airport and a disco 16 months ago. This time they asked if the pair would get back together.

She told German magazine Bravo: "Our time together was wonderful. But once we got famous, work got in the way. We ended it last year. But we remained close.

"And when we were together we were so happy."
