Melbourne sign Kiwi on one-year deal

Melbourne have signed Kiwi international Junior Sau from Newcastle as a replacement for Warriors-bound Dane Nielsen.

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

Newcastle centre Junior Sau has signed with Melbourne for the 2013 NRL season.

The New Zealand international will join the Storm on a one-year deal, as a replacement for State of Origin centre Dane Nielsen who is headed to the Warriors next season.

Storm football manager Frank Ponissi welcomed the signing of Sau, who has played 86 NRL games for the Knights and represented the Kiwis in seven Test matches.

"The club has been very impressed with the way Junior has conducted himself during negotiations and we look forward to welcoming him at the start of pre-season training," Ponissi said.

"We had the opportunity to add a centre to our squad with the departure of Dane Nielsen, and Junior will compete for that starting spot with a number of the club's exciting juniors."
