    Quake measuring 4.6 recorded off East Cape

    A magnitude 4.6 earthquake has been recorded to the east of the North Island and may have been felt on the East Cape.



    A magnitude 4.6 earthquake has been recorded off the east coast of the North Island.

    The quake at 2.05pm on Tuesday was located 90km northeast of Ruatoria. It had a focal depth of 20km.

    The quake may have been felt in the East Cape region, GNS Science said.
