Witnesses wanted to high-speed fatal crash

Patrina Tau, also known as Patrina Wilson, died after the car she was driving crashed at high speed in suburban Auckland on Saturday.

More witnesses are wanted as police try to establish the circumstances of a fatal high-speed crash in suburban Auckland on Saturday.

Patrina Tau, 40, of Mangere Bridge, died after her car crashed into a stone wall at the intersection of Mt Albert Road and St Andrews Road in Three Kings about 7.30am on Saturday.

One witness said the car seemed to be travelling at 140km/h in a 50km/h zone shortly beforehand.

Ms Tau, also known as Patrina Wilson, was driving a small Mazda Demio and was last seen driving south on St Andrews Road before the crash, police said.

Constable Bryan Hensley of the police Serious Crash Unit said he'd also like to hear from anyone who was with Ms Tau in the 24 hour period prior to her death.

Nobody else was injured and no other cars were involved in the crash.
