    Man dies after 4WD crashes down bank

    A man in his 70s has died after the 4WD he was driving crashed down a bank on a Waikato farm on Wednesday, authorities say.


    An elderly man has died after the 4WD he was driving crashed down a bank on a Waikato farm.

    The accident happened on a farm near Mangatea Road in Te Kuiti, about 80km south of Hamilton, late on Wednesday afternoon, a local firefighter told NZ Newswire.

    The man, who was in his 70s, was alive when emergency services arrived at the scene but his condition quickly deteriorated as friends and family watched on. He died at the scene.

    No one was else was injured.
