A 64-year-old Blenheim man arrested in August on drugs and sex charges has had 21 new charges added.
The man, whose name is suppressed, was already facing numerous charges, 14 of them for unlawful sexual connection with a 15-year-old, when he first appeared in Blenheim District Court on September 3.
On his second appearance, on Monday, he had 21 new charges laid, including two of rape, the Marlborough Express reported.
Other new charges included nine of unlawful sexual connection with girls aged 9-16, six of indecent assault on girls aged 12-16, two of offering to supply cannabis and two of offering to supply LSD.
One charge goes back to 1985, some are from 1993-2001 and others from the past two years.
The accused man was remanded in custody and will reappear in court on October 8.
His lawyer Rob Harrison said the charges would be defended.
