    Firefighter in hospital after blaze

A firefighter who suffered smoke inhalation after a fire at a commercial building in Auckland will be kept in hospital overnight.

A firefighter will be kept in hospital overnight after suffering from smoke inhalation while battling a blaze in Auckland on Friday.

A statement from the Fire Service says the man was in a stable condition after being treated after tackling the large fire at curtain manufacturer Lahood in Mount Eden.

About 15 fire appliances were sent to the fire on Mount Eden Road on Friday morning.

Emergency services were alerted to the fire about 9.40am.

All of those inside the building have been accounted for and the building next to the blaze was evacuated over fears it may catch fire.
