    Winterbottom fastest in V8s practice

Ford star Mark Winterbottom has posted the fastest time in the final V8 Supercars practice session for Sunday's Bathurst 1000 endurance race.

Ford's Mark Winterbottom has warmed up for Saturday's top 10 shootout at Mount Panorama by topping the timesheets in the final V8 Supercars practice.

Winterbottom, who qualified third-fastest for the one-lap dash for pole position in Sunday's 1000km endurance race, clocked a two minutes and 07.7370 seconds lap at the 6.2km Bathurst circuit in the 50-minute practice run.

Defending champion Garth Tander was second-fastest with a 2:08.1116 while Winterbottom's Ford Performance Racing teammate Will Davison came in third quickest with a 2:08.3250.

Race favourite Craig Lowndes was sixth quickest while his Holden teammate Jamie Whincup posted the 11th fastest time but will be the final car out in the shootout after qualifying fastest on Friday.
