Two Tokoroa dairy owners have been robbed and kidnapped at gunpoint, police say.
The pair, a male and female, were approached by a man with a firearm as they were closing up the Amber Dairy on Bridge Street about 10pm on Saturday.
The gunman demanded cash from the pair before forcing them to drive him around Tokoroa in their silver Toyota saloon car.
He then forced them to withdraw cash from an ATM near the dairy before returning to the store to steal more cash.
The gunman made the pair drive him to a Mobil service station where he got out of the vehicle and walked north along State Highway 1.
Although the victims were threatened, they were not harmed, police said.
Police are appealing for help in finding the gunman who is described as Polynesian, aged in his early 20s, tall and of medium build. He was wearing dark clothes and a white bandana over his face.
