Holly Madison wants to adjust to being a mom before she gets married.

The former girlfriend of Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner is expecting her first child with boyfriend Pasquale Rotella in March and says they want to get used to parenthood before tying the knot later this year.

Holly, 33, told People: "One thing at a time. We totally want to [get married], probably in late summer. We're going to wait until the baby comes and we get moved in to the house before I start planning any of that."

Holly can't wait to become a mother and revealed she doesn't want to be a strict parent.

She said: "It's hard to say because it's my first time. I don't want to be too strict because I think kids can get rebellious, but I hope to raise my daughter to be passionate about doing good things – about pursuing real things and real hobbies and not just frivolous material stuff."

Holly previously revealed she wants her child have a strong work ethic and hopes she won't spoil the tot.

She added: "I want my kids to feel comfortable coming to me with any problem big or small and I will listen and help sort it out, offering advice from my own experience but not be preachy and teach them, early on, the importance of a strong work ethic and the value of a dollar - I'll try to not spoil them!"
