'Doctor Who' star Matt Smith "can't be bothered" with social networking.
The 30-year-old actor - who plays the titular Time Lord in the BBC series - isn't on Twitter or Facebook and he thinks both sites are a waste of effort and he'd rather spend his free time living in the real world.

When quizzed on his avoidance of Twitter at a Q&A held to launch the new series of 'Doctor Who' in London, Matt said: "Why am I not on Twitter? I don't know really. I spend so much time on my phone and I find the idea that you communicate your life via Twitter quite peculiar. It's just never really interested me. But, that said, I think it's wonderful that you can engage with someone you're a fan of on Twitter. But it's just not really up my street. I'm not on Facebook either. I can't be bothered ... It's just not my cup of tea really."
Matt's new co-star Jenna-Louise Coleman - who plays the Doctor's new companion Clara Oswald - also shares his dislike of social media and she avoids the web as much as she can.
Jenna revealed: "I'm the same. It's just about trying to keep off the internet, really."
Matt and Jenna can be seen in the new series of 'Doctor Who' which returns to TV later this month with the episode 'The Bells of St John'.
