Charlie Sheen has allegedly requested to have his child support payments to Brooke Mueller cut off.

The 'Anger Management' star - who has four-year-old twin sons, Max and Bob, with third wife Brooke - thinks it is ridiculous he should pay her $55,000 a month while she is in rehab battling drug abuse.

According to TMZ.com Charlie filed legal documents this week asking a judge to cancel his obligation to pay Brooke as the twins are currently being cared for by his former wife Denise Richards.

Charlie believes Brooke is using his money for her rehab, which he has paid for previously, but now wants to stop.

Brooke, who has been in and out of rehab since December, left the Betty Ford Center in Palm Springs, California, last month after a 30-day treatment programme and is now believed to be at a clinic in Orange County, California, which is better suited to her needs.

A source close to the Los Angeles County of Department of Children & Family Services says Brooke faces a rigorous schedule if she is to ever regain custody of Bob and Max.

The source said the department “has prepared a laundry list of things Brooke must do before the agency can sign off on her retaining custody of the twins.

“After Brooke is formally discharged from her rehab facility, she must immediately give her contact information to a drug testing company. She can expect to be randomly drug tested at least twice a week.

“If she fails to appear for the drug test, it will be considered a dirty test. She will need to enroll in parenting classes, and successfully complete, and provide proof that she is going to 12-step meetings at least once a week. Her visitation with the twins will be strictly monitored by a social worker. In short, Brooke will have to jump thru hoops to get the boys back.”

A hearing is set for the end of July in which the judge is expected to extend Denise’s temporary guardianship of the twins for at least another six months.
