Miranda Kerr tries to be kind to everyone, including her estranged husband.

The 30-year-old supermodel split from Orlando Bloom last October after three years of marriage and wants to set a good example for their son Flynn, three, by maintaining a close friendship with the 'Lord of the Rings' star.

Asked about the British actor's small tribute to her while receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this month, the Australian star told E! News: "It's important to be kind to everyone, not just our partners or to our family. I feel like that is what's important in life.

"I'm very much about empowering women to be the best versions of themselves and to not be afraid. To be grateful every day is something I feel is very rewarding."

She added: "I feel so blessed that Orlando is such a great dad. I feel really lucky."

The brunette beauty is gearing up to celebrate both her 31st birthday and Easter on Sunday (20.04.14) with her son and a few friends in New York City.

She said: "I'll be cooking and we will be doing an Easter egg hunt."

Meanwhile, Miranda admits she feels more confident about her body because she focuses on being happy.

She explained: "I feel like it comes from knowing yourself on the inside, and constantly growing and evolving everyday, and being the best person you can be and being authentic and individual and not being afraid of that."
