Jamie Foxx says being "fly" is too expensive.

'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' star has had a varied career since rising to fame over twenty years ago, and although he's a multi-millionaire he confesses living up to the celebrity lifestyle can be costly.

He said: "You want to be Beverly Hills, you want to be fly, so you get your pool on when people come round, so it's 80 degrees, 'Check the pool, check the Jacuzzi, it's 104' [degrees].

"But when you get that bill...next time they come over to my house it's freezing, ice cold. That thing is like two grand a month."

The 46-year-old actor - who has two daughters, Corinne and Annalise - worked as a stand-up comedian at nightclubs in during the early years of his career, and he's admits he sometimes ran into trouble.

He explained to The Sun newspaper: "One day when someone was messing with me in a club, this dude who was somewhat of a gangster said, 'Hey Foxx is someone messing with you?' and I said, 'As a matter of fact they are, there's the guy right there.'

"I was like a little girl and they sorted him out."

Jamie claims his "gangster" acquaintance then expected him to pay him back by getting him and his friends into all the clubs.

He said: "But then I owed him. So every time I went to the city it was, 'We are going into the club with you, right?' and I'm looking at

    15 guys."
