Anna Paquin is "proud to be a happily married bisexual mother."

The 'True Blood' actress, who has two-year-old twins Poppy and Charlie with husband and co-star Stephen Moyer, insists their relationship is based on love and not gender.

The 31-year-old star took to Twitter to celebrate LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) Pride Month today (09.06.14), writing: "Proud to be a happily married bisexual mother. Marriage is about love not gender. @eqca @NOH8Campaign @ItGetsBetter"

The blonde beauty first opened up about her sexuality shortly before marrying Stephen, 44, in August 2010.

She said at the time: "For me, it's not really an issue because I'm someone who believes being bisexual is actually a thing. It's not made up. It's not a lack of decision.

"It's not being greedy or numerous other ignorant things I've heard at this point. For a bisexual, it's not about gender. That's not the deciding factor for who they're attracted to."

The Oscar-winning actress initially forgot what month it is because she got caught up following her husband's participation in the Soccer Aid charity match in the UK.

She tweeted: "Been obsessing so much bout @socceraid @_smoyer forgot it was #gaypride in LA! I'm proud of the steps we've taken 2wards equality! R U? (sic)"

She later added: "So much love to you all. must sleep while the babes sleep. goodnight. xo #HappyPride #socceraid2014 #unicef #safetravels @_smoyer (sic)"
