Rita Ora wanted to kiss Iggy Azalea

The 'How We Do' hitmaker asked Iggy, 24, to make out with her during the pair's performance of their new track 'Black Widow' at the MTV VMAs on Sunday but the 'Fancy' singer refused because she didn't want to copy Britney Spear's and Madonna's controversial on-stage kiss at the awards in 2003.

She told The Sun newspaper: "I said to Iggy we should just make out on stage, kiss during our performance.

"She told me that would be crazy because it's already been done.

"Britney Spears and Madonna kissing was my favourite VMA performance ever."

Rita also revealed that the pair were lucky to be performing at all following an accident during rehearsals which saw Iggy tumble off the stage prior to the ceremony at The Forum, in the Inglewood, Los Angeles.

She said: "Bless her. I was just happy she was OK because, God forbid, we couldn't perform after all that. Can you imagine?"

Meanwhile, the 23 year old says she "learned a lot" from Iggy as they filmed the music video for their upcoming single together.

The pop divas recently unveiled the visual for their new collaboration which is a spoof of Quentin Tarantino's 'Kill Bill' movies, and the 'I Will Never Let You Down' singer felt inspired after working with Iggy, who is known for her elaborate videos.

She said: "Iggy is just so involved in her videos. She really is involved. So I learned a lot from that.

"She got inspiration from old Korean ninja things and 'Kill Bill' and then I got inspired by the leather catsuits. I watched 'Kill Bill'

like three times. I learned a lot and we just had fun."

Rita thoroughly enjoyed working with the Australian rapper, who previously supported her on her UK tour, and says there was no female rivalry between the pair.

She recently said: "It was so nice to have no competition vibes. We have so many different ambitions but we work well together, really well."
