Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting would be a party planner in another life.

The 'Big Bang Theory' actress loves planning extravagant events and pulled out all the stops to organise a surprise birthday bash for her husband, Ryan Sweeting, at their home in Los Angeles in July.

The 28-year-old beauty told 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show': "If I wasn't an actor, I would be a party planner in another life. I had a lot of help, but I hired synchronised swimmers to dance to our favorite song, which is One Direction's ['What Makes You Beautiful']. It was my version of strippers. And that was the closest thing I was gonna do. That was the strippers. They were in the water and they were all [synchronised]."

She added: "I always want like special things that people are going to remember. I said, 'I want a mermaid.' Literally. So we found this woman who does this for a living... She just hung out in the pool. What was so funny was legally she had to be out of the pool once an hour. So the security would come and lift her up and take her to my room for 10 minutes [every] hour and she would just sit in there because she didn't have any legs... We would feed her and she would come back out.

"We were trying to do the mermaid thing by like, throwing fish at her."

Kaley's co-stars recently praised her for throwing the "best parties" among the cast.

Melissa Rauch said: "A lot of us hang out. It's just a close knit group. Kaley is the best at throwing parties."

Meanwhile, Kaley insists while she "can't wait" to have a baby with professional tennis player Ryan, they currently have their hands full with their dogs.

She said: "We do want to have kids, but I'm a little... I lost this dog in the backyard so many times that I'm afraid I need to practice on not losing her so I don't actually lose my child."
