Liam Gallagher is "struggling to secure funds" for a support settlement with the mother of his love child.

The Oasis frontman - whose five-year marriage to Nicole Appleton collapsed after it emerged last year he had fathered a baby with the New York based writer Liza Ghorbani - is having trouble finalising his divorce in Britain and, as a result, is finding it increasingly difficult to come up with a support deal for his 18-month-old daughter, Gemma, with the journalist.

Liam's lawyer, Raoul Felder, told The New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "The divorce in Britain is a complicating factor."

It is thought the rocker is waiting to divide up his assets with his former wife before coming to an agreement with Liza and her attorney Ira Garr and has failed to respond to three settlement offers that were presented to him over the summer.

Laura Drager, the justice presiding over the on going child support case - has ordered the 42-year-old singer to attend a deposition in New York in November - and explained that while "everybody's trying to resolve this case", the 'Wonderwall' singer is having trouble "securing some funds".

The news follows revelations Liam was left "fuming" earlier this summer after Liza reportedly rejected a child support offer of $5,000 a month to help care for the tot.

Raoul - who claimed Liza kept changing her demands - said at the time: "She's a very hard lady to satisfy.

"This has been a tortuous route."
