Kendall and Kylie Jenner feel "so proud" to be included on Time magazine's Most Influential Teens of 2014 list.

The reality TV stars came under fire for being recognised alongside the likes of Malala Yousafzai, 17, the youngest-ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, and 14-year-old transgender activist Jazz Jennings, but they have praised the other "incredible teens" who were named.

Speaking to E!, they said: "We are so honoured to be included on the Time magazine list of Most Influential Teens.

"There are incredible teens on this list and we are so proud to be in their company."

Several other stars joined Kendall, 18, and Kylie, 17, on the list including the latter's rumoured former fling Jaden Smith - the 16-year-old son of Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith – and singer/songwriter Lorde, 17.

Movie star Chloe Grace Moretz was also named on the list and she took to her Instagram account to thank the publication for the "honour".

She wrote: "thank you @TIME I hope to give back even more and use any influence for positive change, honored to be mentioned ! #top25 #mostinfluential #timemagazine (sic)"

Singer Austin Mahone, 18, was also recognised and took to Twitter to write a cryptic tweet about "inspiration".

He wrote: "Inspiration doesn't always last, but transformation lasts forever."
