Olly Murs has slammed Taylor Swift for writing songs about Harry Styles.

The former 'X Factor' star has hit out at the 24-year-old stunner, whose latest song 'Out of the Woods' is rumoured to be about her One Direction singer ex-boyfriend - who she dated for three months before their January 2013 split - and called on her to write "something new" that isn't about him.

Speaking on Australian radio station 2DayFM's breakfast show, Olly said: "Come on [Taylor], let it go. Write something new that isn't about Harry.

"Bless him, it's been like two years and he's still getting lashed out isn't he?"

As well as blasting the 'Shake it Off' star, Olly also poked fun at the singing sensation - who has sold more than 30 million albums and 75 million digital downloads - by performing a section of 'Out of the Woods' but changing the lyrics slightly to include the line: "I remember all I remember."

He sang: "You were looking at me, you were looking at me, I remember all I remember

"Are we out of the woods yet? Are we out of the woods yet? Are we out of the woods yet?"

In the original song, which is about a death-defying snowmobile crash Taylor had with an ex-boyfriend resulting in them having to get stitches in hospital, the star sings: "I remember. Are we in the clear yet? Are we in the clear yet? Oh, I remember. Are we out of the woods yet?"

What's more, Taylor is rumoured to have written other songs including 'I Knew You Were Trouble' – from her fourth studio album 'Red' – about Harry.

She performed another hit single from the album, 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' – which is rumoured to be have been penned about her ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal – at the Grammy Awards in 2013 and appeared to make a sly dig at Harry, who was sitting in the audience.

Taylor poked fun at him by putting on a British accent as she said the song's line: "So he calls me up and he's like, 'I still love you' "

Despite the countless rumours, Taylor – who is set to release her fifth studio album '1989' later this month - has never said, and has insisted on many occasions she won't ever say, who her songs are aimed at.

Olly became friends with One Direction after they competed on 'The X Factor' in 2010, one year after he finished second on the talent show, but he recently revealed they tell him they are "too busy" to attend his parties.

He said: "I always invite the 1D boys to my BBQs but they're too busy."
