Frankie Grande will star in the Broadway musical 'Rock of Ages'.

The former 'Big Brother' contestant - the brother of 'Problem' songstress Ariana Grande - has landed a "dream" role in the rock 'n' roll stage show.

Talking to PEOPLE magazine, Frankie said: "I'm unbelievably excited. I have wanted to play Franz ever since I first saw the show. I think it is one of the best, funniest, most clever roles."

This isn't the first time the 31-year-old singer-and-actor has ventured into the theatre. In 2007, he joined the cast of 'Mamma Mia!' and Frankie even revealed that he had auditioned for the role of Franz in 'Rock of Ages' four times.

He said: "I've actually had three final callbacks since the show originally opened. Every time I made it down to the final two people, they went with the other guy.

"The first time I wasn't blonde. The second time I was too blonde. The third time I was too short. That is how Broadway works. They have a surplus of actors, so they can be that picky."

The television personality - who came fifth on the 16th US series of 'Big Brother' - also admitted that he had been enjoying spending time with his family after his grandfather passed away in July.

He said: "It's been great to see my unbelievable family. It has been a very happy and cathartic few weeks. I've been spending time with my [grandmother] going through my grandfather's closet and preparing for his celebration of life, which we are having next month."
