Marc Anthony was stunned by Jennifer Lopez's autobiography.

The 'On the Floor' hitmaker opens up about her personal life in new memoir 'True Love' and her former husband - with who she has six-year-old twins Max and Emme - was shocked by some of her thoughts and feelings about their relationship when he read an early draft of the tome.

Jennifer admitted: "He read it and was like 'Whoa, I didn't know all of this was going on'... and I was like, 'I'm happy that you learned something, that you grew.' "

The 45-year-old singer has been single since splitting from Casper Smart in June and is enjoying having time to look after herself.

She said: "There was something in my [previous] relationships that wasn't lining up... the missing component was me loving myself and being able to take care of myself... they always say put on the oxygen mask first, right? But it's true... you have to love yourself.

"I'm not dating right now. I just decided I was taking some time to be on my own. And be my own best friend."

And the brunette beauty admits she will be a lot more "cautious" in her next relationship, and though she is happy to be single at the moment, she has a list of qualities which she is looking for in a partner.

Speaking to 'Extra', she said: "I will go slower [in my next relationship]. I think I'll be a lot more cautious...

"[My ideal man] behaves very good, he's super faithful, he's super sweet. He's funny... he doesn't have to be [famous] at all."
