Selena Gomez is "emotional" ahead of her performance at the American Music Awards on Sunday.

In the video, she says: "More than anything I’m just excited that people can, everywhere, who are feeling what I feel and feel that, will get to see that.

"And I just want people to be able to relate to that."

A source has also revealed that the 22-year-old singer - who recently split from on and off boyfriend, Justin Bieber - is likely to cry during the show.

The insider admitted to HollywoodLife.com: "[She] knows she’ll cry during the AMA's performance!"

Meanwhile, Justin is reportedly planning to "surprise" Selena at the music award show.

Another source revealed: "He came back to LA because he wants to see Selena. He's even talking about showing up at the AMA's to see her. No one on his team thinks that's a good idea but Justin's going to do what he wants to do.

"He really wants to be with Selena, he feels like that's the only thing that will make him happy. He's struggling big time. He's got his friends trying to talk to her, he just wants to see her face to face because he's convinced that if she sees him they can work it out. But so far she's shutting him out completely."
