Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has deal another crushing blow to Nadine Coyle by unfollowing her on Twitter.

The 31-year-old singer has appeared to signal her friendship with her former Girls Aloud bandmate is well and truly over after she headed over to 29-year-old star's Twitter account and clicked 'unfollow', an action which was picked up on by several eagle-eyed users of the social networking site.

One Twitter user, who is clearly a big fan of 'The X Factor' judge, tweeted: "Can I just pretend Cheryl's Twitter unfollowed Nadine and not her please? (sic)"

Another was not so kind to the 'Stars' hitmaker, slamming her actions as "disrespectful".

They wrote: "Cheryl unfollowing Nadine really why? I love both but find it disrespectful and I'm sure she wont lose sleep over it! (sic)"

Cheryl's antics come just days after she slammed Nadine by claiming she is "full of s**t" for suggesting she didn't want Girls Aloud to split up.

She said: "She's full of s**t. What do you want us to say? She's full of s**t. She was the one who wanted to make a solo record. Which is why we took the hiatus.

"She wants to come out and say we broke the band up? No! She shouldn't tell porkie pies. She should remember why we took the hiatus after seven years..."

Cheryl's comments came after her former bandmate took to Twitter to claim she had "no part" in the break-up of the girl band – also made up of Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh - in the wake of their split following their greatest hits tour in 2013.

She wrote: "you should know by now I had no part in any of this split business. I couldn't stop them. I had the best time and want to keep going"

Nadine's solo album 'Insatiable' bombed in the charts following its release in November 2010, while Cheryl has gone on to forge a successful solo career with four albums, '3 Words', 'Messy Little Raindrops', 'A Million Lights' and 'Only Human', and two stints as a judge on 'The X Factor'.
