Lorde has been exchanging flirty tweets with a porn star.

The 18-year-old singer - who has been following adult movie star James Deen on Twitter since last November - began chatting to him on the site after he posted that she was "f**king awesome".

He wrote: "I recently started listening to Lorde...Lorde is f****** awesome. (sic)"

The 'Royals' hitmaker replied, complimenting a profile that had been written on the 28-year-old actor - who starred opposite Lindsay Lohan in 'The Canyons' -

    in GQ magazine in 2012.

She said: "and vice versa...adored Wells Towers' GQ profile a couple years back.(sic)"

James - whose real name is Bryan Sevilla - then encouraged Lorde to "please forever continue to be awesome", before tweeting the lyrics from her hit 'Team'.

The 'Assume The Position' star said: "I'm kinda over getting told to throw my hands up in the air" Lorde...you understand. (sic)"

Lorde also recently took to Twitter following a chance encounter with rapper Pitbull, which she described as "not dissimilar to meeting the president".

The Grammy Award-winner was so impressed by the 'Timber' hitmaker after she met him backstage at the American Music Awards (AMAs) on Sunday, she quickly shared the news with her 2.75 million followers and likened him to US leader Barack Obama.

She wrote on the site: "i met pitbull backstage, felt this wave of his charisma and loveliness wash over me, probably not dissimilar to meeting the president. (sic)"
