Reese Witherspoon never looks forward to her films.
The 38-year-old actress - who landed her first feature film role as the female lead in 1991 drama 'The Man in the Moon' - frequently considers pulling out of movies because she knows they will be difficult to shoot.

She confessed: "I think about backing out of everything. I get to the beginning and I'm like, 'I do not want to make this movie.' I've never had an experience where I was like, 'I can't wait to start.' "
The blonde beauty - who is married to talent agent Jim Toth - prefers filming comedy movies to dramas because she knows they will be easier to star in as they do not require the same degree of emotional involvement.
She added: "I don't know why. It's always going to require something that doesn't feel good, some sort of challenge or emotional gutting. It's not a fun space to live in a lot of the time. It's why I enjoy doing comedies. It's much easier, thinking of what rhymes with truck."
Despite admitting she tends to shy away from serious productions, her upcoming film 'Wild' - which she has co-produced and stars in as a drug addict - forced her to confront her fears by filming daunting drug and sex scenes.
She told the January issue of Harper's Bazaar UK: "I've never done drugs, so I was really confused. I didn't know what I was doing. It just required being in a really raw emotional place that didn't feel good. [The sex scenes were], like, three per cent of the movie, but it took up a tremendous amount of fear in my mind because it's daunting."
Reese - who stars in 'Legally Blonde' and 'Water for Elephants' - admitted she only coped during the making of the film by never thinking about what scenes she would be doing next in an attempt to prevent her anxiety building up.
She added: "I never looked ahead at the schedule. I would wake up in the morning and say, 'What are we doing today?' And I'd prepare on the way to work. Sometimes I was just terrified. Like a cat on a raft ... 'You can't make me do it.' "
