Taylor Swift is only interested in love "as a writer".

The 25-year-old beauty - who has previously dated the likes of Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Lautner and has recently been romantically linked with The 1975 star Matt Healy - is very "protective" of her current happiness as a single woman and admits her creative inspirations have changed as a result.

She said: "It seems like when I moved to New York love and heartbreak and the themes that used to be main factors in my music kind of faded to the background.

"Of course, love is still very interesting to me as a writer.

Asked whether she was interested in love as a beautiful young woman, she added: "Not right now. I'm just really happy and I'm really protective of that."

The 'Shake it Off' hitmaker also slammed people who mock her for writing about her personal life, insisting the criticism is "sexism" as she wouldn't be subjected the same comments if she was a guy.

Speaking on 'Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014' - on which George Clooney's wife Amal was named the Most Fascinating Person of the year - she added: "If a guy shares his experience in writing, he's brave. If a woman shares her experience in writing she's over-sharing, or she's over-emotional, or she might be crazy, or 'Watch out she'll write a song about you'.

"That joke is so old and it's coming from a place of such sexism."
